Victory for Castilla in Sevilla and a second consecutive brace for Víctor Muñoz

5 hour(s)

Real Madrid Castilla claimed another victory, the second in a row since the start of 2025 with a win on the road against Betis Deportivo in a match they dominated from start to finish. Víctor Muñoz continues his hot streak by registering a new double, the second in a row after his brace against Alcoyano last time out. Gonzalo also got his name on the scoresheet by making it 0-2 in the first half. The Andalusians cut the deficit from the penalty spot to make it 1-3.
Castilla got off to a brilliant start, dominating the first half and taking the lead after just six minutes. Víctor Muñoz took advantage of Chema’s precise pass behind the defense and tucked a right-footed finish past Guilherme when through one-on-one. Shortly after, Gonzalo could have increased the lead with a shot from the edge of the area that went wide. However, on the next occasion, the Madrid attacker made it 0-2 (21'). Youssef put a delicate cross in from the left and Gonzalo made no mistake with a close-range finish from inside the 6-yard box to score his 15th goal of the season.
Second brace in a row for Víctor Muñoz
History repeated itself after the half-time break. Víctor Muñoz collected a through ball from Pol Fortuny and, after eluding his marker with a beautiful cutback, beat Guilherme with his right foot to seal another brace (53'). Three minutes later, as the same player was on the turf, he found himself on the receiving end of a stamp by Mendy that saw Betis Deportivo reduced to ten after a straight red card. In the 63rd minute, the home goalkeeper prevented Víctor Muñoz's hat-trick in a one-on-one. It looked as if Castilla were going to widen the gap but the Andalusian side pulled one back as Marcos converted a penalty to make it 1-3 (76'). A great win for the reserve team, the second in a row in 2025.
