Lucas Vázquez: “Whichever player is picked, performs”
1 day(s)
Lucas Vázquez spoke to Realmadrid TV after our team beat Celta in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey: “The goal was to get into the quarter-finals. It was a match in which we started well with two goals. Then we made the game a bit more difficult for ourselves and it went to extra time. We fronted up in extra-time and we're leaving with a quarter-final spot”.
“At that moment we found good transitions and caused them problems in attack. Endrick was very good when he came on. The victory is important".
Goals
“They show the quality that this squad has. There have been changes from the last game but the team has done our jobs for most of the match. In the end, it seems that, whichever player is picked, delivers”.
Importance of the fans
“Whenever we play in front of our fans, it's an extra incentive. They always push us and help us. The relationship between team and fans is very important for the whole season. I think we are going to achieve great things”.
Limited rest
“We've talked about it several times, the schedules are tough. We have kicked off at 9pm or 9:30pm in 80% or 90% of the games, extra-time now what time is it?... And we play on Sunday at 4:15pm. I think we have very little time to recover. That's what we have to do, but we need to be careful with our rest, which is very important”.
