Castilla win in Algeciras with 4 goals from Gonzalo

1 day(s)

Real Madrid Castilla took all three points against Algeciras at the Nuevo Mirador stadium with four goals from Gonzalo. The top scorer in the category broke the deadlock with a header in 57', extended the lead in 70' after a great touch and subsequent finish and made it 0-3 from the penalty spot (81'). Finally, he capped his superb performance with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area in stoppage time (1-4). This is the second time this season that Gonzalo has scored 4 goals in a match, having also done it against Mérida on matchday 15 as well as a hat-trick against Intercity.
The first half was very evenly matched. Both teams had spells when they dominated possession and had chances. Our team’s clearest came from the boots of Pol Fortuny, who flashed a shot across the goal that went just wide. Meanwhile, the home side also had several chances that were thwarted by the Madrid defense.
Four goals by Gonzalo in the second half
After the break, Gonzalo arrived. The captain made it 0-1 with a cracking header into the top corner. Soon after came the second with great control in the area and a perfect finish in front of the goalkeeper. The striker further extended the lead from the penalty spot after a pull on Jacobo (0-3). Algeciras cut the deficit, but Gonzalo capped his spectacular performance with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area in stoppage time (1-4).
Excellent form
