Carvajal, Rüdiger, Kroos, Bellingham and Vini Jr. have been chosen for the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) best team in the world in 2024. This award recognises the exploits this year of the Madridistas when Real Madrid have been victorious in the Champions League, La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup. Kroos won the first three of these trophies before hanging up his boots last summer, while Carvajal also won the European Championship with Spain.
Alongside the Madrid players, 2024’s best XI is completed by Emiliano Martínez, Alphonso Davies, Rúben Dias, Rodri, Lamine Yamal and Haaland.
Ancelotti and Bellingham
The IFFHS has also recognised Carlo Ancelotti's outstanding year, naming him the best club coach in the world for the fourth time in his career. After the five trophies won in 2024, the Italian is now the coach who has won the most titles in charge of the Whites. Meanwhile, Bellingham has won the playmaker of the year award after being an instrumental part of Real Madrid's title conquests.
