Real Madrid to face Al Hilal, Pachuca and Salzburg in Group H of the Club World Cup
1 month(s)
Real Madrid will take on Al Hilal, Pachuca and Salzburg in the Group Stage of the Club World Cup following the draw held in Miami, the setting for the tournament's opening game. Ancelotti's team have been placed in Group H ahead of the competition scheduled to be held in the United States from 15 June to 13 July 2025.
Our team's curtain-raiser sees them face Al Hilal, reigning champions of the Saudi Arabian league and present at the Club World Cup as winners of the Asian Champions League in 2021. The second match-up comes against Mexican outfit Pachuca, who won CONCACAF's Copa de Campeones 2024, before they close out the group stage against Austria's Salzburg, their opposition in the current Champions League campaign.
The format
The 32 participants have been split into eight groups of four, where each team will face each other once. The top two finishers in each group will qualify for the Round of 16. From that point on, all knock-out ties will be decided in a single game without extra-time. If the scores are level after 90 minutes, the match will go straight to a penalty shootout.
