Castilla slip to defeat in Seville

1 month(s)

Real Madrid Castilla were beaten away at Sevilla Atlético. The matchday seven clash was decided in the 90th minute courtesy of a goal from Pascual. The first half was goalless, with the majority of the chances falling to the home side. Piñeiro was particularly impressive in thwarting the Andalusian side's efforts.

In the 11th minute, the Castilla goalkeeper parried a dangerous cross-shot from Oso and, shortly afterwards, made a smart save to keep out Ramón's header. On 21', the Madrid shot-stopper pushed away a fierce left-footed drive from Manu. Once again, the Whites' goalkeeper was on hand to prevent the hosts from taking the lead on the stroke of half-time, when he saved Antonetti's shot from point-blank range.

Fine performance by Piñeiro
Piñeiro
was again decisive when he tipped away a close-range shot from Oso. Just before the hour mark, Raúl introduced Lorenzo and Cristian David to bring more energy into the side.
The changes made an impact and the Madridistas had a golden chance when Loren Zúñiga's strike sailed just over the crossbar (68'). Seven minutes later, Piñeiro denied Isra when the forward was one-on-one with the keeper. But in the 90th minute, the Madrid keeper was unable to prevent Pascual's goal as the home side clinched victory at the death.
