Castilla pick up a point in Ibiza

2 week(s)

Real Madrid Castilla took a point on what was a tough away trip to Ibiza. The game saw both teams enjoy a host of decent chances and our youth team came closest to taking the lead when Pol Fortuny hit the post, but ultimately the spoils were shared. The draw means Raúl's lads are now unbeaten in 13 games, and well in the fight for a place in the promotion play-offs.
The game got underway at a break-neck pace, with both sides causing each other problems, but failing to create any real danger. The intensity fell away as the minutes ticked by and the first good chance presented itself with 17 on the clock, when Mo Dauda got his shot off in the box, and Mario de Luis was able to gather at the second attempt. Castilla responded just past the half-hour mark, as Youssef picked the ball up on the edge of the area following a fine team move and his powerful left-footed effort forced Ramón into a superb stop.

In the second half, Ibiza were again the first to try their luck, when Bebé unleashed a fierce drive from a tight angle that was repelled by Mario de Luis (53’). The game then settled into an evenly-matched period with no chances of note until 74’. Astals sent in a cross-shot from the right-hand side, which took a nick on the way through and ended up coming back off the post. Three minutes later, Pol Fortuny had the youth side's best chance, when he struck a vicious left-footed shot from distance that could also only find the upright. The game finished all square and our team extended their unbeaten run in 2025.
