Castilla draw against Antequera

Real Madrid Castilla drew against Antequera on Primera Federación matchday 27. Raúl's players earned a point at the Alfredo Di Stéfano in a match in which they had numerous chances to take the lead, including a Nico Paz penalty which was saved by the visiting goalkeeper. Our reserve team is now thinking about their next fixture, in which they visit Atlético Madrid B (Sunday, 4:00pm CET).

Both teams came out onto the pitch with great intensity, while Castilla played deeper pressuring their opponents' defensive line. Our team managed to dominate possession but the chances didn't come until the final minutes of the first half. Luismi G. could have put Antequera ahead with a shot from the edge of the area that crashed against the woodwork (39'). Madrid's reply came through Gonzalo when he received a good through ball from Palacios, but Iván Moreno prevented the goal in the one-on-one.

Castilla kept trying to no avail
In the second half, it didn't take long for the madridistas to test the visitors' goalkeeper with a shot from Palacios in the box that Iván Moreno deftly cleared off the line (50'). Seven minutes later, the same player again made a run into the area down the right flank, where he was brought down by an opposing defender and the referee awarded a penalty. However, the goalkeeper blocked Nico Paz's attempt from the spot with an impressive save. The team carried on trying and after a great team move in the 65th minute, Álvaro's shot from a tight angle was again saved by Iván Moreno. In the final minutes of the game, Víctor could have secured victory with a cross-shot that hit the post and sidled across the goal line. Víctor would try again in stoppage time with a long-range shot that went over the bar. Despite Madrid's insistence in the final minutes, the game ended with in a draw.
