Real Madrid drew the derby held at the Cívitas Metropolitano. Our team went ahead courtesy of a goal from Militão in the 64th minute, but Atlético levelled in stoppage time through Correa. A draw between the only two remaining unbeaten teams in LaLiga after a game that was suspended for 20 minutes when objects were thrown. The first half ended goalless, with only a few chances. J. Álvarez had the first chance for the home side after just nine minutes, but his low shot was saved by Courtois. Real Madrid also threatened with two shots from the edge of the area from Valverde and Bellingham in the 17th minute and 35th minute respectively. Oblak dealt well with both of them, especially the first.
Militão scores
It all changed after the break as Ancelotti's side took the lead on 64 minutes. Modrić's free-kick was played short, catching out the opposition and sending the ball to Vini Jr. The Brazilian took the ball down, crossed with his left foot and the ball found its way to the far post, where Militão popped up to control and volley home with his right foot. The ball hit Marcos Llorente in front of Oblak.
Match suspended due to the throwing of objects
Just five minutes later, referee Busquets Ferrer, after twice sending a warning over the loudspeaker, ordered the players to the dressing room because of the number of objects thrown from the stands into Courtois' area. The derby was stopped for twenty minutes.
The match was restarted after the players returned from the dressing rooms and the subsequent warm-up. Madrid could have scored again in the 73rd minute. Vini Jr. broke away from Giménez with a beautiful turn and his powerful left-footed shot from outside the area forced Oblak into another fine save. The home side also came close with an individual effort from Lino that Courtois parried with a great save in the 81st minute. Correa levelled in stoppage time and in the following minute, Marcos Llorente was sent off for a tackle on Fran García. A share of the spoils in the derby.
