The madridistas confirmed their title win by beating Zaragoza at the Santiago Bernabéu (2-0) with goals from Grosso and Velázquez.
The team coached by Miguel Muñoz ended the 1968/69 League with 47 points, followed by Las Palmas with 38. That season’s Pichichi Trophy went to Amancio and Gárate, both with 14 goals. Real Madrid went on a spectacular 27-game unbeaten streak and lifted the title for the eighth time in nine years.
