Stuttgart beat Borussia Mönchengladbach away on Bundesliga matchday three before facing the first Champions League group game at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Whites' next opponents claimed their first win of the season at Borussia Park, they have also drawn 3-3 at home to Mainz and lost 3-1 at Freiburg so far this season.
